Narrative Bio

Ataman Girişken is an interdisciplinary artist based in Istanbul, working across projection design, moving image, generative media, installation, and performance.

His practice explores the relationship between the physical and the intangible. Through light, movement, and spatial composition, he investigates transformation, memory, perception, and the subtle connections between body, space, and light.

Rather than treating technology as a subject, he approaches it as a material—one that reveals emotional, psychological, and spatial relationships while remaining open to interpretation.

His work has been presented internationally through theatre productions, exhibitions, festivals, and site-specific installations, often developed in close collaboration with choreographers, performers, composers, and cultural institutions. Rather than simply producing images, he is interested in creating conditions in which images can emerge.
